Freshcare backs growers — not red tape

You may have seen the NFF Horticulture Council’s new survey on compliance and the accompanying article. We agree there’s work to be done in simplifying requirements – Freshcare is actively working with government, industry and growers to do just that.

But we want to be clear:

Freshcare isn’t government red tape, it is not regulation.

Freshcare is a not-for-profit organisation which was created by industry, for industry 25 years ago. Over 3500 businesses implementing our programs, deliver safe food to consumers every day.  It’s not a burden designed to make life harder, Freshcare was created to ensure Australian’s have access to safe, high- quality food.

Freshcare was created by growers – and it continues to support growers by giving them access to markets, meeting food safety and sustainability needs. It supports businesses to improve year on year.

For example, Freshcare is currently working through our Standards Reviews and RegTech projects – focused streamlining, compliance.

If you’ve got feedback or concerns, we’re listening – Freshcare continues to have an open door, and we’ll keep working collaboratively with growers and industry to make things better.
