Freshcare Ltd and GLOBALG.A.P. have announced they will be ‘Partnering for Global Assurance’ by hosting a combined conference on the 8th August 2017.
For the first time, in 2017 the Freshcare Forum will combine with the GLOBALG.A.P. Australian TOUR Stop. The GLOBALG.A.P. TOUR takes place every year and is part of the campaign to engage leading stakeholders around the globe. The aim is to unite them behind the common purpose of creating private sector incentives for agricultural producers worldwide to adopt safe and sustainable agricultural practices.
The Freshcare Forum and GLOBALG.A.P. TOUR Stop, will run as a consecutive event with the Fresh Produce Safety Centre Conference.
Since 2009, the Freshcare Forum has been a two day, biennial event, attracting attendees from the Freshcare stakeholder network including trainers, facilitators, auditors, certification body representatives, customers, retailers and other service providers. The Freshcare Forum delivers technical and program updates on food safety, quality and environmental assurance, with social and networking opportunities.
“As GLOBALG.A.P. we do not aim at re-inventing farm assurance in every country,“ said Kristian Moeller, CEO of GLOBALG.A.P. “We appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate our collaboration with Freshcare, the strongest national on-farm assurance program in Australia, at this event.”
The Fresh Produce Safety Centre (FPSC) has hosted an annual one day conference since its launch in 2014. The Annual FPSC Conference provides an event for a wider fresh produce food safety audience, reporting on research outcomes, innovation and industry opportunities.
“We are really excited that we’ve been able to coordinate the timing of the three events” said Clare Hamilton-Bate, Freshcare’s Executive Office. “Working together we are able to provide an appealing and informative technical and networking opportunity for all involved in assurance and food safety compliance in the fresh produce industry.”

About Freshcare – Assurance for today and a safe, sustainable tomorrow
Freshcare is the Australian fresh produce industry’s own on-farm assurance program, meeting the needs of growers in fulfilling both domestic and international market requirements. Freshcare is widely accepted as a practical, industry focused, food safety program. However, Freshcare is not just about food safety and quality. The Freshcare Environmental, Environmental Viticulture and Environmental Winery Codes are also being widely adopted, providing an independent assurance of on-farm environmental practices and sustainable production.
Freshcare’s practical approach to helping growers and packers assure customers that their produce is safe to eat and sustainably grown has seen thousands of Australian fresh produce businesses adopt the Freshcare program since its launch in July 2000.
