As Freshcare celebrates 25 Years of Trusted Assurance, the organisation moves into an exciting chapter with the appointment of a new Board Director Kara-Glenn Worth, Andrew Redman as the Deputy Chairperson, Jane Lovell as the Chair of the Technical Steering Committee and Carrie Starkings joins the Finance, Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee (FRACC).
Freshcare is also pleased to confirm the continued tenure of Liz Riley and Dominique Doyle, whose industry knowledge and expertise play and invaluable role in supporting Freschare’s strong governance and strategic vision.
The Board and Freshcare team would also like to thank and acknowledge outgoing Deputy Chairperson and long-serving Director, Allan Dall.
Freshcare Chairperson Alison Buxton welcomes Kara-Glenn Worth to the Board and acknowledges the newly appointed roles and responsibilities of existing Directors.

New Appointments
Kara-Glenn Worth joins the Freshcare Board bringing her experience as a Digital Agriculture Innovator, driving innovation and sustainability in agriculture. Her expertise lies in bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and practical applications in agriculture. As a Digital Agriculture Innovation Consultant with James Cook University, Kara has developed world first programs like the AgValuate tool to enhance producer readiness for innovation.
As a Director at Terrain NRM, serving on subcommittees focused on sustainability and human resources, Kara was involved in Freshcare’s Industry Collaboration Committee and previously as a mentor with the Techgirls Foundation, promoting STEM engagement among young women.
Andrew Redman: Deputy Chairperson of the Freshcare Board. Andrew joined the Board in 2023 and brings to the position more than 20 years in the food industry in senior Quality and Research roles, for some of the world’s largest food manufacturers.
As Chief Technical and Sustainability Officer for Perfection Fresh Australia, Andrew is focused on bringing a commercial and collaborative leadership style, to deliver improved food safety and quality of fresh produce, that exceed ever increasing consumer expectations. Andrew also oversees the Sustainability program for the Perfection Fresh Group and is a board member of the Fresh Produce Safety Centre.
Jane Lovell: Chairperson of the Technical Steering Committee. Jane joined the Board in 2023 with over 30 years of experience in the horticulture and agriculture sector. Jane’s wide-ranging experience encompasses executive and board-level leadership including, Tasmanian Quality Assured (TQA Australia), Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF), Seafood Industry Australia (SIA), Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), AgriFutures Australia, Cherry Growers Australia, adviser in the agriculture portfolio of the Australian Government, and a background in quality management, plant research and science.
Carrie Starkings: Member of the Freshcare Finance, Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee (FRACC), joined the Board in 2024. Carrie is the CEO of Summerfruit Australia and a global fresh produce leader with expertise in commercial strategy, marketing, stakeholder management, and complex supply chains. Carrie’s passion for the industry began with a Bachelor of Science in Winemaking and Viticulture, fuelling a career in horticulture. Carrie has worked across farmgate, manufacturing, and retail sectors worldwide, including Europe, Africa, China, America, and Australia, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the fresh produce industry.

Since joining the Freshcare Board in 2012, Allan has played a key role in guiding the organisations direction, growth, and long-term vision. His tenure has included serving as both Chair, Deputy Chair and providing significant contributions through his work on the Finance, Risk, Audit and Compliance Committee.
Allan’s commitment to industry-led, practical outcomes has been a feature of his career, from his early work at Sydney Markets helping growers adopt Freshcare Certification, to his leadership in transforming Barden Farms into a vertically integrated operation. Allan’s leadership has always been thoughtful, strategic and provided clarity to the emerging industry challenges – he has been instrumental in strengthening Freshcare and the businesses it supports.
